Overview
Preventor (with a team consisting of Jan Erik Vinnem and about 10 Safetec personnel) has been heavily involved in developing the model for estimating the risk level on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, with respect to major hazards, barriers, falling objects and helicopter transportation hazards. The project has developed a new approach to estimating the risk level from major hazards. A combination of frequency of incidents, performance of barriers and results from QRA studies is being used.
