Just before christmas in 2019 it was announced that the government would appoint a study group to prepare an NOU (white paper) about cruise risk and possible risk reducing measures (see previous post). It was expected that the appointment of the group would be done in 1st quater of 2020, under the coordination of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

Since then the Justice Minister has been changed in the end of January, and in early March the Minister got her hands very full with the Corona virus and all actions to prevent spreading of the virus.

It is natural that the need to appoint the study group has taken a backseat at the moment, the virus crisis taking all the attention of the government.

We hope though that the NOU study group will be appointed later in 2020, when the acute virus crisis has ended.
