Preventor completed in December 2008 an evaluation on behalf of Petroleum Safety Authority in order to establish whether the emergency preparedness for personnel on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is adequate, and to what extent new initiatives during the last ten years have been effective or not.
The conclusion is that employees offshore perceive the emergency preparedness as good, and significantly better than ten years ago. Audits and investigations indicate the same. The evaluations are based on analysis of audit reports and investigations, results from RNNP, data and statistics from the operators, incident and training reports as well as interviews. The report (in Norwegian) is available from PSA web page. Read more
