Decision-making in new offshore projects

Two papers have been/will be published focusing on the risk informed decision-making in early concept (pre-FEED) phases. Both papers find that the implementation of the regulations’ requirements for ALARP evaluations and consideration of uncertainties and robustness have severe weaknesses, especially in the industry. But the authorities could have used opportunities better, in order to demonstrate to the industry what should be focused on. See the first paper here and second here.
